It is the World Green Building Week 2016 and it’s the 25th anniversary since Montenegro declared itself an ecological State. This year 100 GBCs around the world are sending the message – CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE! Montenegro GBC did just that and went to the Green Culture Expedition that took place at Ada Bojana resort from the 21st until the 24th September. The Expedition was organized by a London based NGO Krug who invited national and international speakers, activists, entrepreneurs and inspiring individuals to talk about the issues facing the world today, and to discuss multiple solutions available. On Friday 30th September as a follow up and to celebrate the Green Building Week, Montenegro GBC and NGO ‘Nasa akcija’ from Kotor, organized a visit and team building session during which they visited the Academy for urban and ecological engineering, in Podgorica. Academy founder, Miss. Aleksandrina Vujacic, held a short presentation about the grassroots initiative and its activities, which included practical examples of green building, such as sun water heating boilers, the building of rocket stove and other artistic creations from waste – a green house made from bottles and jars and bathroom mosaic and floor made from old ceramic tiles.

Furthermore, GBC ME is currently implementing the Green Building Education project, where the Green Building Professional course is offered free of charge to 35 engineers, architects, and other building professionals from local municipalities, private SME, NGOs and students. The final stage of the project is a green building exhibition that will take place this December 2016 and will showcase around Montenegro in the future. GBC ME is grateful to German Emabssay in Podgorica for supporting this project.

So, we BETTER BUILD GREEN!
